A lot of people say that Google changes its algorithm all the time, which is often untrue – the only thing that Google really changes is how it blocks out spammers.
But lately, Google has made one improvement that changes the way your content is ranked in the search engines.
Google now looks for a positive user response, not just relevant content
Google, while looking for relevant content looks for a positive user response as well. The ratio at which it looks at user response compared to content has now increased, and increased greatly. Alongside this, the big G is looking at how recent the content has been posted and how frequently you post other relevant content (Google likes fresh content – and the easiest way for you to do this is through Social Media).
But your small business website or your little blog is not likely to get a huge user response (or even get enough traffic to achieve that).
Some simple things you could do:
- Build long lasting relationships on Social Media – for instance, build your Twitter following and tweet your blog posts to get more traffic.
- Integrate Twitter with LinkedIn so you can spread your content amongst your network (those who know you).
- Post well-optimized content on a high profile site that links to your website.
We’ve just set up a network of business owners called Online Amplifiers who are helping each other with Social Media Optimization – it doesn’t have to be complicated.Find out more about B2B Lead Generation here
